President's State of the Union Speech

Overall, I felt his speech was well done and I agreed with alot of what he had to say. Tax incentives for those who buy their own insurance is a great plan! However, the thing that has stuck most in my mind is that the Democrats sat down when he said this about Iraq...

"Ladies and gentlemen: On this day, at this hour, it is still within our power to shape the outcome of this battle. So let us find our resolve, and turn events toward victory."

Am I to assume Democrats are not in favor of a US victory in Iraq? Should I infer they want the US to ... fail? Did they just very openly root against the USA during the state of the union? I think maybe they did.

We won EVERY battle in Viet Nam. Yes, every one of them. It was the likes of Jane Fonda and John Kerry, along with the help of the Main Stream Media that forced our pullout. It's called Liberal Politics, and it's working again. There are a few issues that Bush and I disagree on, and there are times I want to scream, "Listen to me"! But mark my words. History will be very kind to this President. Politics being the way it is now, unfortunately, will not lend a "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" ......prevail. In life, doing the right thing is sometimes difficult. As the leader of the free world, it's political suicide. It's not only the Lib's who are positioning theirselves for 08, but a LOT within his own party as well. George Bush has it right. He sheds tears for the fallen, but he will always be able to look in the mirror, and hold his head high. The Democratic Party of Kennedy is dead. Socialism prevails, and if we pull out in Iraq, hold the faces of those you love ... tight. Then, try with all your might to explain to them why we didn't do something to protect us from all the bombs and beheadings ..... over here.

I think maybe they did too, Jen. It sure looked like it to me. I don't think they really care about the war anymore, they just want to get out & get it over. They think that will make everything better, but it will only make things worse. Oh, yeah, & they care if their voted for in 2008 or not. But President Bush did really well last night considering he was surrounded by coyotes getting ready to attack, because today they did attack, they voted against what he wanted them to vote for, the troop surge & they voted against that, so that shows you they really didn't listen at all last night.

God Bless,

I agree with you 100% Rosebud. Winning in 08 is priority #1, but losing the war and our country isn't. I'll go out on a limb here and expect the flak, but we "need" another 9/11 ... only bigger for those Americans who want to cut and run. Yes, I realize saying that, could be in "my" back yard. However, that's what one calls sacrifice, for the greater good. As far as the LIBs go in their disdane for the President in his SOTU speech ... keep it up. Buck us at every turn so Americans can see up close what real obstruction is ...

Alot of Democrat voters have convinced themselves that liberals aren't out to defund the war. They are in for a shock, IMO.
